Our journey began in the 1940’s with the first Hood. While serving during World War II, Grandpa Hood became an FM radio tech. He also learned basic electric theory. He took these valuable skills and brought them to his father’s painting business. Two generations, three areas of service.

In the 70s, the next generation of Hoods took over with John, our current owner and leader, in the front seat. John made a few changes to the business, adding heating and cooling services. It was his goal to become a more full service contracting company, providing customers with a one-stop service team.

For the next 40 years, Hood grew its reputation and reach across North Central Kansas, and up into South Central Nebraska. With that journey, we became incorporated in 1995, all while continuing to hone our craft. Today, we still operate out of the same familiar location that customers have grown to love in Concordia, Kansas.

In 2018, we expanded by opening a second location in Manhattan, Kansas. After two years of steady growth, we expanded again by partnering with – and purchasing – an existing company in Manhattan, Henton Plumbing and Air.

We’re excited to bring our core values to the table, now with a further reach.
